SEMICON Europa will be held in Grenoble, France in 2014 for the first time, starting a new long-term strategy for the event, which will rotate in alternate years between Grenoble and Dresden, two of Europe’s largest microelectronics clusters. We are confident that this rotation concept will provide increased business opportunities for our exhibitors and visitors by formulating a new semiconductor eco-system development strategy in France, Germany, even among the entire European Union. Additionally, we believe this strategy strongly supports the recently announced European Union’s EU10/100/20 initiative.

SEMICON Europa is the largest and significant event of semiconductor industry in Europe, and the presence of international leading semiconductor makers including ASML, IMEC and ST is a reflection of unreplaceable leading role of Europe market in the world. SEMICON Europa connects world technological leading companies and innovative start-up companies, especially, designing and manufacturing companies in microelectronics and nano-electronics fields.

SEMICON Europa will be a showcase for material suppliers, including chemicals, gases, processing materials, packaging materials, consumptive materials, etc., equipment suppliers from research institutes and universities, and module, sub-system and parts manufactures related to controlling automation and service software.

In addition to the above mentioned showcase, Innovation Village focused on electronic components will bring together new and emerging companies with the semiconductor industry’s top strategic investors and leading technology partners at SEMICON Europa for the first time. And the Silicon Innovation Forum (SIF) will provide a platform for start-up companies and technological partners to show their innovative vigor.

GRENOBLE, one of the world top 5 innovative cities, will demonstrate the powerful innovative vigor by formulating a unique innovative ecosystem mode at SEMICON Europa.

As the largest semiconductor consumption market, the rapid developed electronic information industry, transportation, new energy and internet markets provide China a huge upgrading space in key production processes including IC design, wafer fabrication and packaging test, let alone to mention the business opportunities for equipment and material makers in China. Thus, it is essential for Chinese semiconductor manufacturers to seek communication and cooperation with peers from Europe for the sake of ranking as the major suppliers. This is also the starting point for SEMI China to organize a Chinese delegation to visit SEMICON Europa 2014.
