- Manage Unix servers, Windows workstations, fileservers, compute servers, firewall, backup services, and network in remote office.
- Manage Servers/PC/laptop running Windows operating systems
- Manage local and remote helpdesk by supporting end users of Unix and PC/laptop systems.
- Work independently with minimal supervision and ability to multitask by juggling priorities set up by management.
- Provide collaborative technical input with others in the IT department on tasks, issues and large scale corporate IT projects.
- Participate in IT on-call support.
- Be able to communicate (English) remotely with IT management and IT staff.
- Leadership role in mentoring junior staff and project management
- Strong technical problem solving skills.
- Self-motivated and quick learner.
- Be able to travel (10% maximum) – Travel will be to other PDF offices.

- B.S. in Computer Science or Information Technology (preferred) or B.S. in any Engineering or Physical Science Field
- Pass College English Test CET-4 and CET-6 level (大学英语四、六级考试). Able to communicate work, office and technical issues in spoken and written English. Able to write reports, documents and e-mails in English. Able to communicate effectively in person and by phone in spoken English. A strong desirable to be fluent in English.

| Skills and experience |

| |
- 6 to 8 years system administration experience in a heterogeneous (Unix and PC) environment.
- A solid experience of both Unix (Solaris, RedHat Linux) as well and Microsoft Windows (2000/ 2000-2003 Server/XP) operating systems.
- Expert knowledge of NIS, NFS, DNS, DHCP, SSH, FTP, and Samba.
- Strong knowledge of Windows 2000/2003 Server & Active Directory domains and configurations.
- Knowledge of firewall and other security concepts such as VPN's and other forms of encryption - Experience with host security in relation to passwords, UID's, file system integrity, and other security packages.
- Familiarity with Sun Ultra Sparc as well as PC server based/laptop hardware and configurations.
- Familiarity with NAS based fileservers as well as other RAID devices and software, preferably Network Appliance.
- Strong ability to program or script in a programming language – Examples are bash, Perl, Tcl/Tk as well as HTML, PHP, etc.
- Familiarity with the concept of network wide backups, preferably EMC/Legato Networker.
- Familiarity with router and switch configurations, preferably Cisco.
- Knowledge of computer room facility issues, including UPS, air conditioning, security systems, PBX phone systems.
- Experience working directly with IT hardware and software resellers searching for solutions, obtaining quotes, negotiating pricing, executing purchases.
- Experience in shipping IT hardware both domestically and internationally a plus.
- Experience with managing support contracts and knowledge of various software licensing plans to ensure IT .
- Demonstrated strong ability to problem solve as position requires it.
- Demonstrated strong ability to multitask and prioritize with department and corporate goals in mind .
- Demonstrated strong organizational skills in a multitasking environment.
- Demonstrated strong ability to think strategically and tactically while acting independently under management guidance.
